This is a great place to go for game enthusiasts who have limited space to host game night, or don't have storage for games, or to try out a game before buying, or to be in a bustling café filled with spirited conversation. Out of hundreds of options, we were able to select and try a few games in about an hour and a half. A helpful staff member showed us how to play a game and usefully taught us a house rule that improved upon the game. I would say that while kids are welcome and there are kids games available, the prices might seem a little high for a family to regularly stop in for an hour. It's a flat rate, which works out well for people who are making a day or evening of it. I can't say much about the food, but it looks to be standard café fare plus popcorn and a few beers on tap.

One of the most unique cafes in Berkeley, worth a visit for sure! Nice working atmosphere, decent snack and small bite selection, solid drinks and friendly and efficient service. Love the board games theme and concept of the cafe and hope to have the time to try it out one day. Seems to have a strong community and would definitely come back with friends later on. Honey lavender latte is very nice. Some of the drink flavors are more subtle but the baristas are very friendly and were happy to add more and adjust to your preferences.

Such a fun board game cafe! The vibes are both cozy and lively - whether I'm studying for an exam or trying to build the biggest settlement in Catan, I always have a good time here. There's plenty of seating and outlets (& free wifi!). They also have large tables, so this is an ideal coffee shop for larger groups. I highly recommend their garlic bread and lattes. Their London Fog is creamy and flavorful, and I especially like their seasonal Gingerbread Latte in the cold winter months.

This is a fun spot to hang out with friends, study (if you don't mind the noise), or to go to for a date. Especially if it's raining. Being close to campus also brings in lots of students and special events can pack this place up quick! If you want to ensure you get a spot- go to their website and reserve a table. They have a selection of food and drink for enjoying your time at the cafe. We were there around 3 hours and had some teas. The selection of games is great- however if they're popular games you may not be able to play your choice. (Some of the directions may be worn out, pieces missing, etc-- sign of a well loved and popular game :) ) Ask the staff they're very knowledgeable if you don't know rules for games, or if you want to try new games. They have recommendations! We played patchwork, so clover, and wingspan.
